NavySync

The Project

NavySync is a cross-platform mobile application designed to improve communication and organization within NJROTC and similar student military programs. I was inspired to create the app after experiencing firsthand how difficult it was for large units, including my school’s 400+ cadet program, to manage schedules, announcements, and team coordination using scattered tools like group chats, spreadsheets, emails, and paper rosters. The app centralizes announcements, schedules, leadership organization, and team management into one secure and easy-to-use platform. Cadets can quickly access important updates, leaders can manage information more efficiently, and instructors have better oversight of unit operations through role-based permissions. One of the biggest challenges was designing a system that could handle the structure and scale of large NJROTC units while still remaining simple and intuitive for users. I also used AI-assisted development tools to help with debugging, interface improvements, and development efficiency while remaining fully responsible for the app’s design and implementation. Since its release roughly three months ago, NavySync has reached over 100 downloads across platforms and is currently being used by two schools.
