Because photosynthesis helps control the makeup of our atmosphere, understanding photosynthesis is crucial to understanding how carbon dioxide and other "greenhouse gases" effect the global climate

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

It was difficult to show sunlight in a model. So an electric yellow light bulb was used to show the sunlight.

Next time, I would...

If I had more time, I would use two pots in the model, with one pot placed in dark and the other placed in natural sunlight. I would show that the pot placed in dark was dying due to sunlight deficiency.
