pill box project

The Project

PillSync is a smart medication management system designed to help elderly people remember to take medicine safely and on time. The project combines a smart pill box, pressure sensors, an ESP32 microcontroller, and a mobile app connected through Bluetooth to track medication usage in real time and send reminder notifications. The inspiration for this project came from my grandmother, who has Parkinson’s syndrome and sometimes forgets to take her medication. I wanted to create a system that could help elderly people stay healthy while also allowing families and caregivers to monitor medication remotely. One of the biggest challenges was improving sensor accuracy because pills are very small and lightweight. We spent a lot of time testing and calibrating the sensors to reliably detect whether medication had been taken. Through this process, we learned about hardware testing, IoT systems, and problem-solving.
