Automatic Watering System
The Project
This project is an Automatic Watering System designed to improve how plants are watered by using technology to automate the process. It uses an Arduino board, soil moisture sensors, and a water pump to detect when the soil is dry and supply water automatically. This ensures that plants receive the right amount of moisture while reducing water waste and eliminating the need for manual watering. The project was inspired by the need to solve real-world problems using technology, particularly around sustainability and water conservation. Learners are encouraged to become digital creators and explore how technology can make a positive impact in their communities. One of the main challenges was connecting and integrating multiple hardware components, such as sensors, relays, and the water pump, and ensuring they work together correctly. Learners also had to troubleshoot and debug the system, especially when the sensor readings or pump activation did not behave as expected. This required patience, testing, and problem-solving. Another challenge was understanding how the code interacts with physical components, which is often new to beginners working with electronics for the first time.
