The Project

Homework Buddy is a smart hardware and software system designed to help children focus on their studies without distractions. It ensures the student sits at their desk during study time, blocks gaming or entertainment apps on the computer, and requires parental verification to unlock full PC access after homework is done. How it works (Hardware & Engineering):Microcontroller: Powered by a compact Arduino Nano. Custom 3D-Printed Case: The robot’s body was fully 3D-modeled from scratch and printed on a 3D printer. RTC Module & Display: The system tracks the current time, displays it on a small screen, and triggers the study session at a specific hour by activating an active buzzer. Ultrasonic Sensor: Detects if the child is sitting at the desk. If the child sits down, the buzzer turns off. If they walk away before finishing, the alarm sounds again. How it works (Software & Automation):Python Script: Runs automatically on the PC, constantly closing background apps (games, social media) and locking the screen with a code-entry window. Telegram Bot: When the child finishes homework and shows it to their parents, the parents send a command to a special Telegram bot. The bot replies with a random 4-digit code. Entering this code on the PC lifts all app restrictions.
