Fly and Feed

The Project

Fly & Feed is a smart bird feeding machine built using the BBC micro:bit. The system uses two Micro:bits — one connected to the feeding machine and another used as a wireless remote control. With a simple command, the machine releases grains for birds safely and easily. We were inspired by seeing birds struggle to find food, especially during hot summers and busy city life where natural food sources are decreasing. We wanted to create a project that combines technology with kindness toward nature. One of the biggest challenges was making the wireless communication work smoothly between the two Micro:bits and controlling the feeding mechanism correctly. We also worked hard to design a system that is simple, reliable, and fun to use.
