The Project
Learning Afrikaans is hard, especially when you can't hear how the words sound. I built Spellys to fix that. It's an app designed for parents and learners who struggle with Afrikaans pronunciation. You build a personal word bank straight from your school list, and Spellys reads every word back to you, slowly, then at normal speed, so you can actually hear how it's supposed to sound. No more guessing. No more getting it wrong at school the next day. I built it using AI and Swift Playgrounds, and I've been working on it for three months, learning as I go. And this is just the beginning. There are a lot more features on the way, so watch this space.
