Pinpoint A Pothole

The Project

Pinpoint a Pothole is a smart road safety project designed to help communities quickly identify and report potholes before they become dangerous. The system uses technologies such as computer vision, GPS tracking, and automated reporting to detect potholes, capture their locations, and simplify the process of notifying cities or local agencies so repairs can happen faster. The goal is to improve road safety, reduce vehicle damage, and create a more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly way for people to report road hazards. The inspiration for this project came from growing concerns about road safety and a personal sense of urgency, knowing that many people close to me would soon begin driving. I wanted to create something that could help protect drivers and make roads safer for everyone in the community. Creating Pinpoint a Pothole was both challenging and rewarding. Countless hours were spent designing, testing, and improving the project. Along the way, I learned valuable new skills, including coding, digital design, and soldering. Although the process was difficult at times, it became an incredibly rewarding experience that strengthened both my technical abilities and my passion for solving real-world problems through technology.
