AirCrown Tactical Helmet – Integrated Smart Respiratory Protection System
The Project
AirCrown Tactical Helmet is a smart wearable safety system designed to protect soldiers and rescue teams from hazardous air conditions. The helmet integrates air purification, toxic gas detection, pulse-rate monitoring, and real-time alerts into a single protective system. The project was inspired by real-world defence and rescue challenges where soldiers and emergency workers are exposed to smoke, toxic gases, and polluted environments. Research from WHO, DRDO, and defence studies helped us understand the importance of respiratory safety during operations. One of the biggest challenges was integrating multiple components into a compact helmet structure while maintaining proper airflow, sensor connectivity, and comfort. Designing the filtration pathway and fitting electronics into the 3D-printed helmet required continuous testing and modification.
