Historical Figure Chatbot
The Project
The Historical Figure Chatbot is an AI-powered web app that lets users chat with famous historical figures through roleplay conversations. Users can ask questions, switch between figures, and see images that match each character. I was inspired by the idea of making history feel more alive and engaging for students. Instead of memorizing information, people can interact with figures like George Washington or Albert Einstein as if they were having a real conversation. One difficult part was making the chatbot stay in character while also returning responses in a clean JSON format for the app to process correctly. Another challenge was handling image links and updating avatars whenever the historical figure changed. The project was built using Python, Streamlit, and the OpenAI API.
