Servo-actuated bolt
The Project
This is my servo-actuated bolt. This bolt is moved by a servo via an ESP32 board so a door can be locked & unlocked with an RFID reader. When the correct RFID tag is brought near, the bolt retracts for 5 seconds, a beep sounds and then the bolt closes. This gives you enough time to enter the room and close the door behind you before the bolt closes again. I coded it in Invent using blocks. I made it using a 3d-printed bolt, a piece of wire, a piece of wood, some screws and tape. When I installed the bolt on my door, I realised that I needed to be able to operate it from the inside otherwise I would be locked in my room forever! I added a button and when you press it, the bolt is retracted, then there is the 5 second pause, a beep and then it closes again.
