Save The Plant

The Project

Hello! My name is Puneet, and I study in Class 8 at MGGS Dhanmandi, Udaipur, India. I have created a project using the BBC microbit, an OLED display, a soil moisture sensor, and an LED, called “Save the Plant.” Many people either forget to water their plants or sometimes overwater them, which can damage or even kill the plant. I wanted to solve this problem by building a simple moisture monitoring system for plants. Here’s how my project works: The soil moisture sensor checks how wet or dry the soil is. The moisture level is displayed on the OLED screen in real-time. If the soil becomes too dry (below a certain threshold), the alarm is triggered and the LED lights up, alerting me that the plant needs water. This system helps ensure the plant receives just the right amount of water, promoting healthy growth and avoiding waste. I was inspired to create this project after seeing how often plants at home were either underwatered or overwatered. The most challenging part was calibrating the sensor values correctly so that the alarm activates only when it's really needed. Thank you !
