Patient Movement Monitoring System
The Project
The Patient Movement Monitoring System is a safety-focused project designed to detect and alert caregivers about patient movement—particularly useful for elderly, bed-ridden, or post-operative patients who require constant supervision. The system uses a PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor to detect motion or movement near the patient’s bed or area. If any movement is detected, the Arduino microcontroller processes the signal and triggers a buzzer and an LED to alert nearby caregivers or nursing staff immediately. This project is simple, low-cost, and ideal for home care setups, nursing homes, or hospital wards where real-time patient movement alerts are critical to avoid falls, accidents, or wandering.
