Virtual Easter

The Project

When we created this project, many popular Easter activities had been shut down due to the pandemic. So, we decided to focus on recreating these Easter activities in our project, so kids can still enjoy this holiday, but virtually! In our first activity, you can decorate an Easter Egg, with any color, design, or any artistic style you’d like! After you’ve finished decorating your eggs, you are challenged to our second activity: an Easter platformer. In this platformer, you have to dodge obstacles and collect the eggs at the end of each level to win! 1. Our project include two popular Easter activities that you can play and explore. First, you can decorate an Easter Egg, with any color, design, or any artistic style you’d like! After you’ve finished decorating your eggs, you can play to an Easter platformer. In this platformer, you have to collect the egg at the end of each level to win. We choose this project because COVID-19 caused many Easter celebrations to be cancelled. So, we made this project so people can still enjoy their favorite Easter activities, but virtually! 2. One challenge we faced was coding. In this project, we had to create challenging code, or code things for the first time. We overcame this by asking each other for help, watching tutorials, and checking the code inside other working Scratch projects. 3. If we had more time, we would definitely add different holidays to choose from. We'd also add more art tools, such as different brush strokes, colors, textures, and stickers to the egg decoration. We would also add save codes so you could share an egg design. For the platformer, we would add more levels, obstacles, and maybe a certain amount of lives. We could also add a leaderboard.
