Smart Fire Alarm System
The Project
In town or urban areas, there is the biggest problem of fire safety. In urban areas, people mostly live in buildings or apartments and if any fire breakouts then, it is very difficult to arrange a rescue team and equipment as well as inform everybody. The main problem is to take safety measures and inform everybody at a time. Because when fire breakout we have very little time to inform everybody and take safety measures. So, we have to develop a system that can perform both tasks simultaneously. For solving this problem, we are making a system that can perform both tasks simultaneously. Here, we will use Arduino as a system brain and an IR sensor for detecting fire, also our system will be able to give an alert signal by using a buzzer. 1. Tell us about your project. Why did you choose to make this project? In town or urban areas, there is the biggest problem of fire safety. In urban areas, people mostly live in buildings or apartments and if any fire breakouts then, it is very difficult to arrange a rescue team and equipment as well as inform everybody. For solving this problem, we are making a system that can perform both tasks simultaneously. Here, we will use Arduino as a system brain and an IR sensor for detecting fire, also our system will be able to give an alert signal by using a buzzer. 2.What did you find difficult while making your project and how did you work it out? We faced the main problem in selecting and interfacing the sensor for the fire safety system. Actually, we were thinking that for detecting fire we have to put a sensor close to the fire but, after discussing with our STEM trainer, we found that we can detect the fire using a simple IR sensor. 3.Is there anything you would do differently or you would add if you had more time? Yes, if we had more time we would try to add a notification feature to your system. With this notification system, we could alert the fire brigade.
