Automatic Wild Animal Detection and Rescue

The Project

This project involves designing a wild animal detection system using an IR sensor. The system utilizes an Arduino microcontroller to process the sensor data and provide visual and audible alerts when a wild animal is detected. The status is also displayed on an I2C LCD. If an animal is detected, a red LED and a buzzer are activated to indicate danger, and a warning message is shown on the LCD. If no animal is detected, a white LED is illuminated, and a safe status is shown on the LCD.

We chose to make this project because...

Wild animals entering human habitats pose risks to safety and property, including agricultural damage. Traditional monitoring methods are labor-intensive and slow. An automated detection system is needed to provide immediate alerts, enhance safety, and protect property and crops efficiently.

What we found difficult and how we worked it out

One challenge was integrating the IR sensor with the LCD display due to library compatibility issues. To resolve this, I ensured the correct `LiquidCrystal_I2C` library was installed and used proper initialization methods. Debugging and testing each component individually helped streamline the integ

Next time, we would...

Expanding the project with a GSM module allows automated alerts to wildlife authorities and villagers upon animal detection. Integrating an IR thermometer assesses the animal's condition, aiding safer rescue efforts. With more time, these features enhance the system's effectiveness.
