Down In The Depths Blind

The Project

This game is an new and interesting isometric platformer that is weird, wacky and has a scary mood because of the lack of light. It is designed for two players to work together to solve difficult puzzles and challenging levels. To save yourself from the dangers from the depths. you are in a desperate attempt to escape the cave but you realise you are not the only one in there. It is a couch co-op game which means grab a friend and then start this action packed experience. With infuriating game design which is made to make you what to throw your controller out the nearest window, it is sure to make life long memories of how annoying this game is.

Team Comments

I chose to make this project because...

The game has been developed by me and my twin brother and we wanted to make a game which is co-operative where 2 players need to work to together.. We built on the idea of two friends working together by making you both fail if 1 player fails, and an unseen entity in the depths taunting you.

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

The game was a difficult challenge to develop and the games many elements all had their own bugs and challenges, and often we’d fix 1 bug for 2 more to appear in its place. However, the hardest challenge by far was the moving platforms as they had to move in sync.

Next time, I would...

Improvements to the movement system, by reducing how often you clip through platforms, would make for a smoother player experience. Adding an achievement system, where the game rewards players for their successes with cosmetic items to use on the character, would help motivate players.
