The Project

This project was created for children aged around 6-10. It allows them to generate a story idea based on the theme of space while having fun playing a short game. This is very useful for generating the building blocks of a basic story: a theme/main idea, a background(setting) and a main character. It also is prefect for introducing younger children to what the key components of a story are, and how to use them.

I chose to make this project because, as I have a younger sister, I know that sometimes coming up with a story idea can be difficult. This project is designed to solve that problem, which many people of all ages face, and make sure that you have fun while playing this game.

One thing I found difficult was finding how to make the computer know when to switch to a new backdrop. I worked it out by trying multiple variables and making new blocks until I realised that I could use the "when _ key pressed" block.

If I had more time, I would like to add more of a variety of options for each part of the story (e.g. more character choices), and make other themes for the story instead of just space.
