The Project

Our project 'Cash your trash' attempts to provide a solution to the issue of mounting garbage/trash particularly in metro cities. It creates awareness about the issue as well as suggests ways to solve the issue through composting, waste segregation and connecting people with NGOs through which used gadgets, books etc can be donated to the needy.

Team Comments

In a city like Mumbai, we see trash being dumped around the city. Being a modern household, we and our friends have multiple gadgets, but we do not properly dispose the old ones before buying new. This project is our attempt to create awareness and provide solution to tackle this problem.

It was quite tricky to code multiple sprites in scratch. Between both the team members we divided the work and coded separate parts of the program. After that consolidating the project was a major task which took a lot of time. We continuously connected with each other, and kept working together.

We are in the process of building the actual cash your trash app on MIT app inventor so that people can connect with each other and NGOs to donate used items. We are very excited to see our idea come to life through the prototype of the app we are making.
