The Project

We aim to find the best possible solution for the prevention of stray dog attacks, which is a major issue we face today. We look into multiple solutions and there consequences considering factors such as efficiency, reliability, cost and animal rights. We come to the conclusion that the best solution is a combination of 2 methods, 1) A simulator to educate people about the do’s and don’t in a dog attack, it simulates dog behavior and helps people experience a dog attack so they can be prepared if it happens in real life. It teaches people not only the theory but also gives them a feeling and experience of being in a dog attack 2) Decreasing dog population with adoption and cleaning the environment. We develop a app for solution(1) which can be implemented with a excess profit to run a business model, and help for adoption, sterilization and environment cleaning charity to implement solution (2). We also developed a website as a quicker form of communication, with lots of features, for similar reasons. The Game/App/Simulation has lots of features including a playable character who can look around and interact with the world and an AI dog that can respond to certain stimuli. The website has features like blog, donation portal and store for gaining a income for solution(2).

We chose to make this project because...

Stray dog attacks are major issue around the world, in our home country of Kerala there were are 1 lakh stray dog attacks just in 2022. There are around 4.5 million dog attacks every year, in which a few result in death. Hence we believed it is very important to develop a good solution to attacks.

What we found difficult and how we worked it out

Coding the dogs AI was difficult as we had to handle lot of senses and control various different things. We also modelled, designed and animated all the 3d models and 2d designs ourselves which also took a lot of time. Coding all the systems to work well with each other was also difficult.

Next time, we would...

We made the project in a short period of time and ran into lot of time constraints. We hoped to teach lot of different things about through our simulation, but we were only able to make a few lessons and scenairios within the time frame. We hope to make the project bigger and better.
