The Project

The problem we have worked on is- • Earthquakes account for the majority of deaths from a range of natural disasters which amounts to about 60,000 people a year worldwide – around 90 percent of which occur in developing countries. Existing solutions and their issues Seismograph • Quite expensive to buy • difficult to utilize. • When an earthquake occurs, it does not emit a beeping sound. Our Project- A device in which the buzzer starts buzzing when it senses ground motion during an earthquake and the seismograph will also work. An app in which there are: 1. Safety measures 2. Emergency Phone Numbers 3. Prognoses Our Project points to 2 sustainable development goals which are • GOAL 13: Climate Action • GOAL 15: Life on Land

Team Comments

We got inspired to make the project because of the tragic events of the Turkey and Syria earthquakes, which left behind immense destruction and devastation. After seeing the loss and suffering of the people we got downhearted, and we felt that we need to come up with a solution.

We didn't find anything difficult.

If we had more time we would have done many modifications like adding a type of Richter scale.
