Aqua Lautus

The Project

The project uses a tube to adjust the layers, smell absorbent to purify smell, color absorbent to absorb color, silica to adsorb the impurities, cellulose acetate which works as a semi-permeable membrane, charcoal to absorb the minute impurities, and foam to purify the water. The device has an adjustable opening so that it can be adjusted to any washing machine’s pipe ending. Turbidity sensor would detect the cleanliness of water We have even reduced the price of our purifier to 15 rupees so that our product can be purchased by everyone; let's go blue together with Aqua Lautus!

Team Comments

We chose to make this project because...

71% of Earth is covered with water out of which only 0.65% of water is available to us to carry out our day-to-day work, out of this we waste 5605 gallons of water per year just to wash clothes and hence, to overcome this problem of water wastage, we have made Aqua Lautus.

What we found difficult and how we worked it out

When we started to execute the idea of Aqua Lautus, we faced problems like how can we purifier the wastewater of the washing machine to its fullest, for that we researched and tried to make various combinations of layers and came out with the best one.

Next time, we would...

If we had more time, we would have added a display board that would represent the pH, TDS, and various other water contents, before and after the use of the purifier. Also, we would have added a layer that could decrease the water temperature (cold)
