Rain Detector

The Project

When you put your clothes outside for drying, sometimes rain comes and you may not even realise it. As a result, the clothes will get drenched with water. For this issue, I have made an indicator which will beep when rain comes and the person inside can rush outside ASAP to get the clothes back inside. This is an Arduino based project.

I have often seen my mother running outside to pick up the clothes when it suddenly starts raining and it's very difficult to dry the clothes during the monsoon season when there is no sun. So, I decided to come up with a solution.

We have just moved to a new home and right from sourcing out the components to finding an apt place to shoot the video was challenging. Never excluding the fact that I managed to complete this project almost around the last day of the deadline mentioned.

I would probably make a switch to activate and deactivate the mechanism. I would also add a feature so that when the switch is off, the alarm will stop blaring and it will retract back to the house and will allow it to dry and when the switch is back on, it will automatically go back out. I would pr
