The Project
Use a Pi4 to control a Maplin/Owi robot arm to sort pens by colour using a real-time colour sensor We used a zero feedback robot arm, a few cardboard boxes and a raspberry pi to create an automatic pen (and pencil) sorter - adapted the arm to include home made limit switches and used the scroll wheel and buttons of a USB mouse to encode back to the pi - built a box which contains over a hundred pens and pencils and dispenses them one at a time - integrated a colour sensor module to measure colour (RGB) and allocate pen to one of 8 bins - assembled python code to control arm using USB and GPIO No mice were harmed in the making of this project!
