AT-ET Robot Arm

The Project

This is our mechanical arm AT-ET, which is designed for picking things up that have fallen on the floor that is especially useful for disabled people, using the tech stuff from microbit. AT-ET is mostly made out of technic Lego bought in by our teacher. The name AT-ET is based on the Star Wars AT-AT walkers.

Team Comments

We chose to make this project because...

We took inspiration from cranes, mechanical arms & lifts. Helping people with cerebral palsy, especially Evan’s sister Millie. It is mainly meant to be used in school, so the teacher doesn’t have to pick the object that has fallen on the floor.

What we found difficult and how we worked it out

Getting the servo working was the hardest part of this project. We worked it out by trial and error.

Next time, we would...

. If we had more time we would of given it a hook, & make it do 360 degrees. We also would have put a cardboard coating on it. It took us a month to make.
