Interactive 3D Donation Website
The Project
This interactive website, built with Unity, accepts computer donations and runs smoothly on any browser thanks to WebGL. The donations and login information are securely stored on a cloud-based database, and a real-time statistic board allows donors to track their contributions. To ensure the donations are acknowledged, an email bot is integrated into the system, but email functionality is only available on the desktop app version due to WebGL limitations. To overcome this, all data and donations are stored securely on the cloud-based login page.
Team Comments
I chose to make this project because...After learning that many people lack access to computers and the internet, I created this computer donation page, enabling people to donate old or spare computers to those in need. Providing these resources allows individuals to access educational materials and opportunities online.
What I found difficult and how I worked it outOne of the challenges I faced was the email sending functionality due to WebGL security concerns. Consequently, I opted to track donations in a cloud-based database instead of sending email confirmations. However, the desktop app version includes email functionality.
Next time, I would...If given more time, I would enhance the website's functionality by adding features such as a text notification system for donors and tracking the usage of donations (e.g., selling or donating computers). Additionally, I would improve the website's user interface to enhance the overall user experienc
