Lego Spike Prime COLOUR SORTING ROBOT

The Project

The Color Sorting Robot is used for sorting mainly colors. This Robot is a working prototype designed for automatic sorting of objects based on the color. The Color Sorting Robot using Lego Spike Prime is a fascinating and renowned project for techniques, which combines machine building and programming. The Color Sorting Robot is fully automated with the help of Lego Spike Prime. This Color Sorting Robot senses the colour of different colored objects and classifies them into respective cups. Sorting of products is a very difficult industrial process. Continuous manual sorting creates consistency issues. This Robot is designed for automatic sorting of objects based on the color. Colour sensor was used to detect the color of the product and the Programmable Hub was used to control the overall process. The experimental results promise that the prototype will fulfill the needs for higher production and precise quality in the field of automation. It will reduce labour costs managerial problems. It also reduces to a large extent the established margin of error, primarily human errors. The color sorter Robot can be used in foods production factories such as sorting grain (agricultural products), production of coffee, nuts, and oil crops, diamond industry that is measured by the color sorter and used as a measurement of its purity. It can also be used in Chemical, Medicinal and other sectors. Colour Sorting Robot can also be used in:- **HEALTHCARE SECTOR  This Robot can be used for the identification of colours.  Colour detecting Robots/Colour Detectors can be used by visually impaired people such as blind people, or those with little colour perception, to distinguish colours. This may assist them to identify the colour of clothing or furnishings, distinguish between items such as fruits and other food items. ** EDUCATION SECTOR  Sorting objects based on colours helps build visual perception and thinking skills.  Children can generally sort into colours by identifying the name of the colours. Learning to categorise and classify helps memory skills.  It provides fun play-based learning.

Team Comments

We chose to make this project because...

We chose to make a robot which could be used in or be helpful in various sectors

What we found difficult and how we worked it out

The most difficult part was to recognize the different sectors where colour sorting robot could be used. We did a thorough research and modified our basic colour sorting robot to a little advance version that could fit in automation, healthcare and education secote

Next time, we would...

Yes, if we had time we would research more, and make it more advance to help in more sectors.
