A Context-Aware Sailing Simulation and Optimization Environment using Artificial Intelligence and Genetic Algorithm
The Project
This project is a machine learning application that is created to use weather conditions to predict the best path for a sailboat in the ocean to maximize speed. By using a genetic algorithm, the simulation I created is able to produce an accurate route for a boat to take.
Team Comments
I chose to make this project because...I choose to do this project for two reasons. One because of my passions for sailing, boats, and anything water-related. In addition, my passion for computer science and science really pushed me to explore. The lack of technological advancement on sailboats is honestly shocking.
What I found difficult and how I worked it outOne of the main difficulties was the sheer complexity of a genetic algorithm and learning how to adapt the algorithm to my goals
Next time, I would...I am currently creating a more accurate simulation and an application to allow more people to conveniently use my project for their use. If I had more time these things would be my focus.
