The Land Spirits

The Project

The Land Spirits is a game where you play as a bunny venturing through the forest in search of the Crown of Souls. Along the way, you can interact with many NPCs. In the game, the player has to find the Magic Orb which will give you powers that can be used to defeat evil ghosts and complete objectives in each level along the way. The player is also told about new quests at the end of each level by NPCs. The Land Spirits is an open-world, action-adventure/fantasy game.

Team Comments

We chose to make this game because we thought it would be a fun adventure and coding experience. We also thought that this game would be suitable for the audience (intended to make this game for young people, although older kids can still enjoy it).

We found making the player take damage from enemies to be difficult. We worked this out by adding damage when the player overlaps certain sprites or tiles. We also had some teamwork issues but we resolved this by assigning clear roles to everyone and improving communication in team meetings.

We want to add some customisation options with the playable character. We want to add different orbs that unlock and improve powers. We will continue adding detail to bring our game world alive. We will add more NPCs, enemies and places to explore. We also want to add cutscenes and dialog options.
