The Project

This game is allows players to explore the world and express themselves creatively as they create their own character. Players should consider appropriate clothing for the selected environment they are heading to. We are still working on our game but have almost finished the menus with map selection and character creation. When finished, players will complete mini-games relating to an objective in their chosen environment. These can be completed in any order. Players will learn about some of the different biomes and locations from around the world.

Team Comments

We wanted to make a fun game that allowed the player to have some choice. We wanted to do something different and creative with our game, not just a platformer or a maze type of game. We love geography and learning about different places around the world so wanted to include that in our game.

Because we wanted our game to be open and non-linear with lots of player choices, this led to many difficulties. Navigating around menus without bugs was difficult and we have had to learn lots about event based programming and broadcasting. We watched tutorials and asked our teacher for help.

There are many things we would like to add to our game. We want to improve our character creation system so that players can customise every aspect of their character, not just their costumes. After this, we want to create cool mini-games that relate to each biome and teach players about them.
