The Project

Prognosis is a web application that predicts a person's risk of getting diseases with machine learning. The frontend website is made with React JavaScript and Tensorflow.js, backend is powered by Python alongside machine learning frameworks such as Sci-Kit Learn.

Team Comments

We choose to make this project because we would like to provide free and accessible predictive health care for everyone. We utilize machine learning to predict medical conditions that can be treated if caught early.

The most difficult part of our project is our custom machine learning API as it involves complex API calls and machine learning algorithms. Integrating both together is a difficult task that thankfully, we were able to overcome by constantly testing our code and reading documentations.

If we had more time, we would like to include a developer’s documentation page where the open source community can utilize the Prognosis framework to create more preventive healthcare tools.
