Curious Crest Collector

The Project

A modern and cool device to sort and analyze the awards given in primary schools for kids. Most primary schools have an award system. In my school, ours is called ‘crests’ and are given out to students who show exemplary effort. These crests are given are to each student’s house and at the end of the year, the house with the most crests wins.

Team Comments

I chose to make this project because...

1. It's hard for the teachers to keep track of the N of crests for the school as there are 445 kids. 2. There is not an actual program to count and input the N of Crests given out for each house in a term. 3. Kids can’t see if they are winning or losing, they aren't motivated to try their hardest.

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

The most difficult part for me was to adjust my color sensor as it kept changing depending on the room's light. The final machine now has a lamp (night lamp) on the top so it guarantees the degree of illumination in different rooms.

Next time, I would...

1. Create a way to remove the token that is faster and easier 2. Add a speaker to make it more attractive and exciting for users
