GotchaInbox
The Project
This project is a prototype browser extension called GotchaInbox that scans emails and web pages to detect scam risk. It checks writing style, domain legitimacy, page structure, links, attachments, and visual patterns to flag suspicious content before it can trick users. It was inspired by the rapid rise of AI-generated scams, which can now imitate legitimate messages and websites with alarming accuracy. One of the hardest parts was combining many different detection methods into one clear, user-friendly system. Another challenge was making the results easy to understand without overwhelming users or interrupting normal browsing. Because the project is still in development, it is not yet available as a full extension, but it is being built toward a late-summer release.
