Quantum-Inspired AI for Apple Leaf Disease Detection

The Project

This project uses quantum-inspired artificial intelligence to detect whether apple leaves are healthy or diseased from images. I built a baseline machine learning model (classical model ) first, then created a quantum-inspired version to see whether feature selection could improve the results. The project was inspired by the idea that Quantum-Inspired AI can help with plant disease detection and make it easier to identify problems early. One of the hardest parts was making the model accurate while also keeping it stable and simple. I compared the two models using accuracy, cross-validation, and the number of features used. In the end, the quantum-inspired model showed that using fewer important features can sometimes improve performance and make the model more efficient.
