Lifeline Builder

The Project

Lifeline Builder is a web-based emergency signal relay training simulator. It was inspired by a simple question: before full rescue deployment arrives, how can an SOS message get through if normal communication is disrupted? In this project, users place Ground, Rooftop, and Drone relay nodes on a disaster map. The simulator checks each link, finds the weakest link, explains why the route is weak or blocked, and suggests a better route. It also shows a Mission Replay, where the SOS message moves hop by hop from the SOS Source to the Rescue Center. The most difficult part was making the project feel like a training simulator instead of a simple map game. I had to design different rules for Flooded Town, Mountain Road, and Blackout City, and make sure the same route could behave differently under different disaster conditions. I also added Mission Reports, link-quality breakdowns, and safety notes to explain that this is a simplified training model, not a real emergency system.
