Mom!Don't make me wear the coat!

The Project

There was a contest where, if you won, your game would be installed on an actual arcade machine. As someone who dreamed of becoming a game creator, I was determined to do my best in this contest, so I started working on my entry. I created it using a visual programming app called Springin'. The idea was inspired by the relationship between my mother and me. My mother is very loving, but she’s also a worrier who’s always telling me to “put on a jacket.” On the other hand, I’m an energetic kid who gets hot easily and loves wearing short sleeves. I decided to turn our relationship into a game. The hardest part was drawing the pixel art. I drew all the visuals for this game myself. When I made the prototype, I drew the images freehand with loose lines, but that didn’t look very professional, and I realized it wouldn’t meet the quality standards required for an arcade game. So, for this final version, I converted everything to pixel art, aiming to maintain consistent shapes and create a cohesive visual world.
