"Viral Vanguard: The Vaccine Quest"

The Project

“Viral Vanguard: The Vaccine Quest” is a Scratch-based action game inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of vaccination and hygiene. In the game, the player controls a saviour character who protects against attacking viruses by shooting vaccine bullets. Sanitizer drops provide extra lives, promoting the message of safety and prevention in a fun, interactive way. The inspiration behind this project came from real-life experiences during the coronavirus outbreak and the efforts of healthcare workers and scientists to fight the virus. The goal was to spread awareness about health protection through an engaging educational game. One of the biggest challenges was managing sprite cloning, collision detection, and score/life updates smoothly during gameplay. These difficulties were solved through repeated testing, debugging, and improving the Scratch coding logic step by step.
