I chose to make this project because...

Learning through projects and games enhances overall understanding of concepts and makes it more interesting and memorable. Waste Segregation game will help people develop good habit of proper waste segregation. It becomes difficult to explain the process to large number of people.

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

I had to learn and implement equations of maximum projectile range in Scratch. I created internal variables of sub parts of equation and used pen down and up to show ball's trajectory. X position is changed in steps and y position is calculated. This is done in loop till ball hits ground.

Next time, I would...

If I had more time, I would learn to implement Waste Segregation as a hardware project. It would need learning about hardware platforms like Raspberry Pi, sensors and a software language to code the program. Also, game can be expanded to cover more Science Laws and even Mathematics basic concepts.

This is a such a great mix of fun learning resources for people to use. I got pretty addicted to playing Garbage Mania and the timing was perfect to make it just stressful enough to have to think and grab the item in the right bin in time before you miss it! It’s clear you’ve put a lot of effort into this package of great games and visualisation tools and it’s really exciting to hear that you’d like to expand the platform to include more maths and science concepts. I’d be excited to see how you implement the waste segregation concept using physical hardware in the real world!
