Chorify

The Project

Chorify is an AI-powered dance learning application that helps users practice dance more accurately and interactively. Users can upload or play a dance video, and the system uses pose estimation technology to compare the user’s movements with the original choreography in real time. When mistakes happen, Chorify highlights the incorrect body movement and gives clear feedback, almost like having a personal dance teacher. One special feature of Chorify is its vibration feedback band. The wearable device connects to the application and vibrates with the rhythm of the music, helping users better understand timing and beats while dancing. This can also make dance learning more accessible for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. The inspiration for Chorify came from my own experience learning dance. Sometimes it was difficult to know exactly what movement was wrong when practicing alone. Beginners often struggle without feedback, and dance lessons can also be expensive or inaccessible. I wanted to create a tool that could make dance learning easier, more affordable, and more inclusive. One of the most difficult parts of this project was improving the accuracy of the pose estimation system. Different camera angles, lighting conditions, and fast movements sometimes caused tracking errors. Another challenge was connecting the vibration hardware smoothly with the software in real time. Through this project, I learned more about AI, computer vision, problem-solving, and how technology can help make learning more accessible and engaging.
