Gacha & Dimensions: Ultimate Minecraft Parkour

The Project

[What this project is about] This is a unique, system-driven Minecraft parkour (athletic) game that spans multiple dimensions. Players travel through three distinct stages: the Overworld, the Nether, and the "Insane Mode" Overworld. The core mechanic is a randomized "Gacha" item system at the start; players must strategically use the items they pull to navigate and clear the obstacles. Additionally, the map features a central lobby that overlooks the entire parkour course, serving as both a scenic waiting room and the functional respawn point when players fail. [What inspired it] I wanted to combine the high-intensity gameplay of traditional parkour with RPG-like mechanics and automated systems in Minecraft. Normal parkour can get repetitive, so I was inspired to add a layer of unpredictability using a randomized item drop. I also wanted to create a grand, visual sense of progression, which led to designing a multi-dimensional journey and a central lobby where players can look out over the massive challenges that await them. [What was difficult] The biggest challenge was managing the backend command logic and world coordinates seamlessly. Creating a reliable Gacha system using command blocks to ensure fair randomization took precise tuning. Furthermore, designing the layout so that the central waiting room could beautifully overlook the massive parkour courses across different dimensions required a lot of architectural planning and coordinate adjustments.
