Fitness Tracker
The Project
My project is a custom fitness tracker that I built using Microsoft MakeCode for Micro:bit in JavaScript, inspired by the idea of pushing simple hardware far beyond what people expect from it. I wanted to show that even a tiny device like the Micro:bit can meaningfully help people improve their health, so I designed features such as step counting, calorie estimation, workout activation, and even posture monitoring that alerts users when they lean forward more than 40°. One of the biggest challenges I faced was the Micro:bit’s limited storage—at one point, the program was too large to fit on this device, so I had to shorten and optimise my code to make everything work smoothly. This project taught me a lot about creative problem‑solving, and it inspired me to imagine future expansions, including a full mobile app with AI‑generated workouts, voice coaching, music integration, and advanced calorie tracking.
