An AI Powered Food Monitoring & Waste Prevention Platform

The Project

Our project is an AI-based smart food monitoring system designed to reduce unnecessary food waste. We were inspired by the global problem of edible food being thrown away because people often rely only on expiration dates without considering storage conditions or how long the food has been opened. Our system uses artificial intelligence to analyze expiration dates, temperature, storage environment, and time since opening to predict possible spoilage and send personalized alerts and recommendations. The most difficult part was building an accurate prediction process that combines different food factors and creating useful recommendations for users. Through testing and adjustments, we developed a smart solution that helps people store food better, save money, and protect the environment.
