The Project

The Smart Menu Card is a Python-based desktop application developed using the Tkinter GUI library. This project is designed to modernize the traditional hotel menu system by making the food ordering process easy, fast, and error-free. In this system, customers or staff can select food items from different categories such as Biryanis, Starters, Kebabs, Curries, and Indian Breads. Each item has a fixed price, and the required quantity can be selected. Orders are managed table-wise, which helps restaurants handle multiple tables efficiently. The application automatically updates the order status (No Order, Preparing, Ready), displays orders in the kitchen panel, and calculates the bill including GST (5%) and discount (10% for orders above ₹500). There is also an option to cancel items before billing. This project reduces manual mistakes, saves time, improves coordination between the waiter and kitchen, and enhances the overall restaurant management process.
