Foldable Solar Panel using LDR module

The Project

We created a Foldable Solar Panel System using an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) module, Arduino Uno, and servo motors. The system automatically folds the solar panels when sunlight is low and unfolds them when bright sunlight is available, maximizing energy efficiency and protecting the panels. Inspiration: Inspired by the need for smart renewable energy solutions, especially in unpredictable weather, I wanted to build a system that optimizes solar power collection while protecting the panels from damage during low light or adverse conditions. What was difficult? The main challenge was ensuring accurate detection of light intensity and coordinating the servo movements to fold/unfold the panels reliably without jitter or misalignment. Applications: Smart solar charging systems Portable solar kits for camping or emergencies Solar-powered IoT devices Renewable energy learning projects Sustainable tech in disaster-prone areas
