MEDeBuddy: A health tracker for asthmatic patients
The Project
Asthma patients have to manage multiple medications, as well as avoid environmental triggers. In this project, a real-time electronic tracker was designed and built to monitor health. The device had a WiFi-enabled microcontroller and various sensors to track vital signs and environmental factors. Based on sensor inputs, the device displayed the readings on LCD and the smartphone app. It alerted the user through LCDs, LEDs, and the smartphone app, when conditions were abnormal. The device recommended appropriate medication use and test reminders through messages and emails to people of your choice. The device is simple to use, accurate, and portable. It is inexpensive and has wide reaching potential, especially to poor countries where hospital may not be accessible or affordable. This device integrates several cool features for users to self manage health and medication use, especially during restricted hospital access during Covid pandemic.
