Zoom Chat: New and Improved

The Project

The zoom chat doesn’t differentiate between the level of importance of chat messages. When multiple important messages are sent out through the course of a class session or when the Zoom chat is very active, it is difficult to identify important announcements, links, due dates, etc. To differentiate between types of messages in the Zoom chat and their level of importance, we proposed a new design for the Zoom chat. Our prototype consists of two key components: One, it allows the meeting host to pin certain messages, making the message stand out in the chat. Two, it divides the chat into three sections, allowing users to switch between “All Messages,” “Pinned Messages,” and “Direct Messages.”
