People counter using IR sensor
The Project
We made a People Counter using an Arduino Uno, an IR sensor, and an LCD screen. The IR sensor detects people entering or exiting an area, and the count is displayed on the LCD. This system is useful for monitoring the number of people in places like rooms, halls, or shops to manage crowd control effectively. We were inspired by the need to manage crowds safely and efficiently in public places, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, where maintaining safe occupancy became important.. The main challenge was making the IR sensor count people accurately without errors.
