WaveBot

The Project

WaveBot is an Arduino Uno–based robot designed to wave its hand whenever someone passes near it or waves their hand. It uses a proximity sensor to detect motion and responds with a friendly wave, making the interaction feel lively and engaging. Inspiration: The idea came from wanting to create a simple, interactive robot that can greet people in a fun way without needing complex commands—just a natural motion nearby is enough to trigger a response. Challenges: The toughest part was fine-tuning the sensor sensitivity to detect nearby motion accurately without false triggers. Balancing the timing of the robot’s wave to look natural also took some trial and error. But through testing and adjustments, the project now works smoothly and reliably.
