"Migration and the Separation of Families

The Project

This project explores the emotional impact of youth migration from rural Maharashtra to cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik for better job opportunities. Inspired by the loneliness and isolation felt by parents left behind, especially in their old age, the Scratch-based program helps users understand these family struggles. It encourages young people to consider local employment and entrepreneurship as alternatives to moving away. The program raises awareness by showing the emotional toll on parents, highlighting ways to boost rural job opportunities, and promoting local economic growth. One challenge was balancing the emotional story with practical solutions, motivating youth to stay connected with their families while supporting their communities.
