"Farmer Suicides and Mental Health Crisis

The Project

This project addresses the sensitive and serious issue of farmer suicides in rural Maharashtra, where debt, crop failure, and lack of mental health support push many farmers toward hopelessness. Inspired by the real pain behind every statistic, the Scratch-based program takes users through the emotional journey of a struggling farmer. It presents a choice-driven scenario where the farmer must decide between seeking help or giving in to despair. Choosing to seek help leads to positive outcomes through government schemes, mental health support, or community aid. Choosing not to seek help shows the emotional and social consequences of isolation. The biggest challenge was handling the topic with empathy while still delivering a powerful message: that awareness, support, and timely action can save lives and preserve families.
